Dear {!firstname} I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
I love the variety of church signs that you find while driving in America. Sometimes they are so humorous or impactful. On one occasion recently Cath and I noticed a sign which read: 'God - is He your spare tire or your steering wheel?' What a great challenge! The reality for most of us is that we spend a lot of time with our hands firmly fixed on the steering wheel of our lives - desperately trying to direct things in the way we think they should go. God is there for emergencies! In these verses from Psalm 121 we are being encouraged by the Lord to lift our eyes to Him - in other words, to take our hands off the steering wheel. He asks us to do this because it will be the place where we discover He is truly our source of help. In this place of lifting our eyes to Him we can find peace - even in the midst of turmoil. What a comfort! We pray that you would experience the reality of this in whatever situation you currently find yourself in - that as you look to Him, you would find help and peace. One of the most exciting developments of the work of Ellel USA is that we are now holding most of our events on the land at English Acres. You can see in the photos the progress that has been made in restoring our old 'Blue House' into a Conference Hall! We are not finished yet but are so encouraged by the progress that has been made through the faithful giving and hard work of volunteers. Please pray with us that God will bring about the fullness of the vision that He has called us to. A friend recently sent me an email saying the following... 'I'm so thrilled to hear that you are now running events on the land. Even though it is a small step I'm sure that every one of those steps is planned by our amazing Heavenly Father. Small things grow up when they are looked after!' How true this is! We require approximately $3,500 to complete the Conference Hall. If you are able to help financially towards this please either contact us or make your tax-deductible donation online. Thank you for your support. We have some excellent events being held during 2009 which we want to draw your attention to. We are really looking forward to our Freedom! conferences which will be taught by Peter and Fiona Horrobin in Oklahoma City and also here in Florida during March and April. We also have a number of one-day events this year on a wide variety of subjects including Ministry to Marriage, How to Pray for Children, Ministry to Men and Healing for Women. You can find full details of these events on our website. In 2006 we held a hugely successful Truth & Freedom Mini-School in Minnesota and this year we are holding it again on English Acres. You can find out more about this life-changing school online. Our 2009 Guide to Ellel Ministries USA can be downloaded online which gives full details of the events being held this year.
