Dear Reader,

It is only just spring but already many exciting things have been happening here at Blairmore. The year started with us both along with other leaders from Ellel travelling to Jerusalem for the first Ellel Conference to be held in Israel. This was an incredible time and the Lord amazed us by his grace and power. The testimonies we heard back encouraged us greatly as we saw God healing and speaking to His people.

As a result of the conference my life has been significantly changed!”

I was blessed beyond measure and the teaching and prayer gave me such a release. I was able to find out about and get rid of things that for years I was only seeing from afar, not knowing what to do with it them, although I realized they made me suffer. They are in the open now, forgiven, gone”

“Thanks for a wonderful conference! It was an encouragement to be there, both in terms of the preaching and prayers from the Ellel team, but also to come together with other believers in Yeshua here in Israel.  It was truly an amazing time! “

While we were away the team had a joy of it own as Baby Emma Adrianje Brokaar was born to Liz and Peter on the 3rd of January.  Emma is a beautiful and “Bonnie" baby, guests and team are amazed by her peacefulness and she is a delight to have here with us.

God’s goodness is so evident to us here at Blairmore, His faithfulness to each individual on team; His provision for the ministry and His love and gentleness to each of His children  He brings here are more than we could ever ask for or imagine and we praise Him for it all.

“I can only say the loving care shown to us spoke so wonderfully of the lavish love of our Father God and we give him praise and our grateful thanks”

With every blessing,

Anna and Malcolm Wood

Development

Since January we have been renovating the conference hall. The work began with our maintenance team clearing it out and insulating the walls; a difficult and long job of drilling many holes into concrete breeze blocks. The insulating stopped while we had the windows fitted on the north wall, which have just been completed and are fantastic. We found out quite early that our plans for building the patio doors would be a lot harder than we had expected due to the structural weakness of the wall. However the windows produce so much more light and air than planned for, that the patio doors aren’t needed, which will save us both money and time. The next step is to finish the insulation and carpeting and then begin on lighting and staging. It is our prayer that in our following newsletter we will be able to include pictures of the finished conference hall

The 2 disabled rooms we mentioned in our last newsletter have now been in full use since Christmas. In fact the house is very often fully booked with guests and we wonder how we had survived without the extra 5 beds. It has been an encouragement for us to know that as we step out in faith and expand the building, God will bring the people to fill it.

Schools

In January we celebrated the graduation of our Modular B3 students who have been with us since 2006. We have all enjoyed getting to know them over the last 2 years and it is great to hear how the School has impacted their lives and their relationship with the Lord. We are also so pleased that some are staying on with us to be trained as ministry team members.

“I am not rejected anymore, I am loved.”

“At the beginning of Modular, over 2 years ago, I dare not sing in front of anyone. Now however, I lead worship and I feel God releasing me more and more in worship and my destiny”

“My wife and I came to the first week of Modular very unsure, but we found such lovely people and fellowship that we had to come back. 3 weeks in a very busy schedule is a big commitment for us, but we made it number 1 priority, because we knew we had to be here. I am not the same person as I was at the beginning and although I am not complete, and its not the end of the road, God has brought so much healing to my life, I have been amazed at what He has done.”

In February we held the long awaited and much anticipated Christian Leadership School. It was a great opportunity to see Peter Horrobin and Jim Graham again and to hear their dynamic teaching on leadership. We were amazed to see half of the students were previous Modular school students and greatly encouraged to see God speaking to them about leadership.

“I do feel God has made significant breakthrough in my life. I also feel that I can go back with the ability to change my life and leadership style by pressing into Jesus and I have met Him in greater depth this week”

“I will remember my group and their faces as encouragement for the amount of potential God has invested in us all.”

The Modular B1 School began the same day Christian leadership finished and we were so blessed by all the students who stayed on or came early to help us prepare the house. It was a real pleasure welcoming back so many familiar faces from the previous year of Modular A and also to see new faces amongst the group. They were all very excited for the chance to build on the understanding they gained with us the previous year and to once again be part of the special fellowship in which they learn and share together. During the week God once again welcomed, taught and brought Healing to His people.

“When I introduced myself this week I said that God had rescued my life from the rubbish heap. I have realised that I have carried a belief deep inside my heart that I am rubbish. That is a lie. I am precious to God, I have a right to exist and he thinks I am WONDERFUL.”

“There is a real feeling of family among the students and team. I felt accepted for who I am, the fellowship is precious, I felt I could be myself.”

EMI Prayer Task Force

We have just hosted the Prayer Task Force led by Fiona Horrobin. This was a week of strategic prayer involving representatives from Ellel centres internationally and key intercessors. A special point about this yearly meeting is the sharing of knowledge, as although we pray by the leading of the Spirit, it is also important to be informed and during this week many of the centre’s were able to do presentations and share what God is doing and how He is leading them. The teaching given was very significant and challenging to the ministry and each person who came testified to the importance of the fellowship they had here. During prayer they feel that they really met with God and that He has spoken powerfully into the ministry and now they are able to go away with much to pray into.

Team

New Team

Sarah Frankham joined us at the New Year from Ellel Pierrepont to work in the ministry Office as administrator and she is doing a great job.

Kylee Kong has been studying in Edinburgh over the last 2 years and heard about Blairmore House from one of our Modular Students she was lodging with. Kylee has joined our Young Peoples Team and is working in the Taping Department.

Jade Ng was a fast answer to prayer. One morning it was decided an SOS call would need to be put out to the UK Ellel centre’s asking for YPT’s as we didn’t have enough staff to run the upcoming course. An hour after this decision was made Denise Cross from Ellel Glyndley Manor phoned and asked if there was anything she could do for us (she hadn’t yet received our SOS call) After sharing our predicament, she rang back an hour later to say Jade Ng one of their YPTS had volunteered to come serve here with us. Jade arrived just a few days later.

Good Bye
We say goodbye to Pablo Gonzalez who is leaving us after 18months to do NETS down at Ellel Pierrepont. We are not too sad as he will then be joining the team at Ellel Grange so we know we will see him often in the future. To celebrate his time with us and his 21st birthday we held a big party for him in the dining room and had a lot of fun and feasting.

It is also farewell to Chris and Sheila Adams who have been on leadership here for 15 months. They are continuing to help with the Modular Schools and are waiting to see what God has planned for them next. We will miss them very much but know that our loss is someone else’s gain and we bless them in their next step.

Changes in team
David and Maureen have moved from living in house to a lovely little cottage Archiestown. They have both stepped down from being House Managers and so now David is able to devote his time fully to the development project as project manager, while Maureen has moved to part time hours and is continuing to assist Malcolm in financing. The role of House Manager is now taken up by Peter Brokaar.

Over the last several months we have been short staffed and in this have found the blessing of learning deeper dependence on God and the fellowship of our volunteers. We are so grateful for all those who volunteer to help in the kitchen or cleaning when needed and to God for the love and joy He brings to us through their serving.
