This month some of us on the leadership team here at Ellel Pierrepont and a few NETS trainees had the privilege to take a trip and see community transformation firsthand. The Body of Christ always talks about revival and preaches about revival, but what is it that actually attracts the presence of God in a way that brings revival? After this trip to Manchester, Kentucky, USA we see that repentance and humility are two other factors that contribute to a visitation from God.
This county, one of the top ten poorest in the entire United States, suffered from extreme drug use with people of all ages, extensive corruption in the local and county government, and little hope for the residents living there. Drugs were such a problem with the young people that one student said nearly once a week someone was overdosing. A resident involved in ministry there was quoted as saying that he wasn't sure there would be another generation because half the population was leaving, and of those who were staying, half were dying. Misery, addiction, and death had had its grip on this town for years and years. Then, a pastor organized a march, protesting the corruption and sin that abounded, and surprisingly a group nearly twice the population of the city turned up. Churches united in prayer and repentance over the sins of their town, and God honoured them. Soon afterwards, the FBI began to arrest numerous people in positions of power for corruption and those positions are now filled with born-again believers, including the Mayor and the Chief of Police. Our team who were able to speak with pastors and members of the community firsthand were struck by their genuine love for God, for each other, and their lack of "religion." For these people, church is not just held in the church building, but in the barber shop, the streets, and even Wal-Mart! We came home re-envisioned and inspired by what we saw. The people had a genuine love for one another as individuals and met each other where they were at, without condemnation. Many churches were united across denominational lines and everyone was so hungry and desperate to see God. Not only was the town spiritually renewed, but physical changes also happened. Wildlife returned to the nearby woods in amounts not seen for decades, and 1400 new jobs were created in a town with a population of 1800! It was such a privilege to visit a place where God has come to town. We are also excited to send one of our Ministry Teams to Kentucky on our next NETS Ministry Training Programme Stage 3 mission trip. The people, while so hungry for God, are in such need of God's healing hand to come to where major damage has come in through years of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment. Join with us in praying that the Lord will do mighty miraculous things as His people seek Him. You can also view our full events diary by clicking here. I encourage you to come and bring some friends to our free conference 'Jesus Heals Today' on 29th May. It will be an exciting day of worship, dynamic teaching and personal prayer ministry. Also, please note that we've added a new Quiver event (for 18-35's) to our diary on June 19th.
Since I've been talking about revival, you may be interested to know that a recent article about the 'Obstacles to Revival' taken from a teaching by Peter Horrobin, our International Director is now available on the NETS website - Click here to read it.
Every blessing in Christ Jesus,

What's holding You back? - 19th June 2010
We all desire to live life to the full, and most of us have tried a few different ways of attaining this! This event tackles the question 'What's holding you back?' and aims to unpack what it is that can hold us back from fulfilling the destiny God has planned for us. When we understand what's holding us back, we are in a better position to break out of those things and to live in freedom. Often the Lord reveals very specific things to the people who come on this course and through personal prayer ministry they find freedom and life - exactly what Jesus promised! Do you live the fear free life? Are you experiencing life in ALL its fullness as Jesus promised? Do you find there are things that hold you back from being you? Come and hear how Jesus can set you free from your past, ground you in the present and open up an awe-inspiring future. Come to Pierrepont for a fun day with lively worship, powerful teaching and a life-changing encounter with God. Quiver events have the specific vision of reaching and equipping the younger generation (18 to 35) for a no-compromise lifestyle in Jesus. (Titus 2:12) |

The work at Ellel Pierrepont has been going now for more than 15 years and we have seen the Lord faithfully provide for all our needs over that time. Many people have joined with us in the work by supporting us financially either on a one off basis or longer term. We recognise that not everyone can be here at Pierrepont working full time but God has called businesses and individuals who are working full time in other jobs to partner with us in seeing His vision fulfilled.
