Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-2

Welcome to the first Pierrepont eNews letter! I hope you enjoy reading about what is happening here and how God has been working in the lives of many of our students and visitors.

Our NETS programme has moved up a step this summer with the first Term 4 students arriving for 10 weeks of training and equipping to walk in their calling and destiny. NETS is now a whole year life-changing programme! Alongside these pioneers, we have 47 students from a broad selection of countries on NETS 20 Term 2, and on 27th July we welcomed 30 more students who arrived to spend 9 days with us on MicroNETS.  They were joined by over 300 visitors on Saturday 4th August for our summer Free Day. With 105 staff plus all the students we had nearly 500 people to provide lunch for, not to mention coffee breaks! The last session of the day was a special time of ministry with many testifying to God's healing provision in their lives.

The MicroNETS students also gave testimony to changed lives. One lady said that God had 'powerfully fulfilled' the reasons she had for coming on MicroNETS. Another student wanted to go straight onto NETS NOW! (Sorry, but our next Term 1 doesn't start till October 6th).

Are you ready to take the NETS challenge? Why not come on and see for yourself why our students say NETS means Never Ever The Same! We have a Free NETS Taster in September with a day of teaching from Jim Graham and an opportunity to talk to team and students about what it means to come on NETS. Contact the NETS office on 01252 797350 or email nets@pierrepont.ellel.org.uk  if you are interested.

We look forward to welcoming you to Pierrepont on your next visit and pray that God will bless you and
keep you and make His face to shine upon you.

With love in Christ

Coming up at Ellel Grange

Meet Cristina from Ecuador - Young People's Team

What kind of family situation did you grow up in?
I was born into a Christian family, but was basically brought up by my nanny, as my parents weren't around much.

What was your relationship with your parents like?
My parents were always busy working, so it was very hard to form any kind of relationship with them. They provided everything for me, but never hugged, kissed or said they loved me.

Did you try to find love from other sources?
Yes. At first I began studying really hard at school, I threw myself into the work thinking that if I succeeded my parents would love me. When I realised it wasn't working I caved in under peer pressure and at the age of 15 started to date a non Christian man who was considerably older than me. I was desperate for love.

What was the turning point?
Amidst all my struggles I felt as though God didn't care. However, one day whilst listening to a Christian programme on the radio this all changed. The presenter started sharing about God's amazing, unconditional love, explaining that even if we can trust no one else, we can always trust in him. It felt as though she was talking directly to me, this love was what I had been yearning for my whole life. From that moment I tried to make a new start looking to God as my source. I also made an effort to forgive my parents for all they had done, and things did get a bit better, but we were still not close

What has God done in your life since you joined the Young People's Team at Pierrepont?
Since being on the Young People's Team I have attended many courses which have opened my eyes enabling me to fully understand the extent of my heavenly father's love for me. God has worked amazingly in my life, helping me to completely forgive my parents. I am now able to say that I love and trust them both, and know that the past is behind me, my depression has also gone and I have joy in my heart again!

Term 3 Mission Trip

A group of 14 NETS term 3 students and additional team members flew out from a blazing hotLondon on 5th June, heading towardsSouth Africa for their mission trip.

Touching down the following day in Johannesburg (after a long flight) they were met by some of the Ellel Africa team who kindly drove the group to their base in Pretoria, and from there they joined forces for the events ahead.

The First conference was a 3 day event, held in Mamelodi, a black township, where it soon became evident that there was much brokenness and so many who were crushed in spirit; these were people hungering for real truth. Throughout the conference, team and delegates alike enjoyed many powerful times of worship. By the end of the 3 days many people had received physical healing, whilst others had given their lives to the Lord. In fact, there were so many people testifying to God's physical and emotional healing in their lives that the team had to stop those giving testimony, in order to get to the next scheduled stop!

On the road again, the team made their way towards another township nearJohannesburg, called Vosloorus where the next conference was to be held. The congregation was quite different this time, as public office strikes which were taking place at that time meant that a considerable number of professional peoples such as teachers were able to attend, which was a blessing as it would never have been possible under normal circumstances! Every day the team saw spiritual eyes being opened to Holy Spirit revelation as people began to see ways in which Satan had robbed and attempted to destroy them. Once again, by the end of the 2 days the feedback and testimonies given were truly remarkable.

The final conference was to take place in Mogwase, an area within which witchcraft is rampant. Sensing a battle ahead a few of the team stayed up half the night earnestly praying before the conference began, for God to break through the apparent passivity displayed in many of the local people. And sure enough the next day, as the teaching began to connect and minister deeply to many of those present, emotions were released in a truly magnificent way.

As the team returned to the UK they shared many stories rejoicing with us at Pierrepont in what the Lord had done during their time in South Africa.
