Painting Week: 14th—21st April 2012 Textiles Week: 25th August—1st September 2012
Our Healing through Creativity courses have proved to be a tremendous means of restoring human hearts, touching us tangibly in the depth of our humanity in the love of God. What has been knowledge in our heads has become heart reality. Our living Creator God has put within each of us desires and gifts designed to restore and refresh our human spirits - an antidote to the stress and toil of our fallen world. These weeks of creative enjoyment for the human heart have been designed with this purpose in mind. To give ourselves time to enjoy the life and gifts God has given us and to enjoy them with Him.
What better place than the Highlands of Scotland to receive the Creator’s inspiration! Blairmore provides a comfortable and inspirational setting for discovering your creative talents. In addition to the painting/sewing sessions, there will be morning and evening inspiration, prayer and fellowship times.
Watercolour and Mixed Media Painting Inspirational and fun painting times with a qualified artist for help and tuition and led by Fiona Horrobin.
This unique week offers you the opportunity to explore a variety of techniques and media in painting including water colour, acrylics and pastels. With artist tuition ranging from simple painting and drawing techniques to more complex artistry, all levels of ability will be catered for. Come and enjoy experimenting, learning a skill or developing your own skill level. A talented and qualified artist will be there to lead and guide you alongside others who enjoy the journey of self expression through painting and art. There will be group led times where we will experiment with mixed media or engage in step by step tuition in how to produce a painting to delight in. The week will cover a range of painting such things as effective skies, sea, foregrounds, rivers, trees, buildings, flowers, animals, still life, sunsets, simple landscapes. It will also be possible to paint small art works for framing or in personal cards.
Textiles and Sewing A whole host of colours and textures to explore with a variety of different textile disciplines to enjoy and experiment with.
An amazing week that will enable you to enjoy and delight in textiles in various ways. The week will include experienced guidance and tuition in a variety of disciplines including banner making (including preparation of backing, use of colour, texture and lettering), appliqué, Italian quilting, Trapunto quilting, weaving with silk, linen, hemp and paper, felt-making and spinning. The week allows plenty of time for experimentation of new crafts as well as completion of projects such as banners, woven scarves, cushions etc.
Whatever your abilities - beginner or improver; young or old, you are very welcome, even if you think you can’t paint or sew at all! All materials are provided or bring your own.
