Acceptance and Belonging
We all desire to belong. God has given us an in-built desire to feel
recognised, valued, and accepted for who we are. When this need has not
been met in a rightful way it can result in our rejecting others,
ourselves and even God.
This course explains how we can learn to accept God as he really is,
others as they are and ourselves as unique and precious children of
God. It is for all those who want to escape the treadmill of rejection
and move into acceptance and belonging.
The teaching will be especially helpful to those who are called to
minister God's love to hurting people.
The initial teaching looks at the character of God, the kingdom
principle of unconditional acceptance, and the consequences of man's
rejection of God. Following teaching topics include:
The consequences of imperfect parenting
Illustrates how imperfect parenting can result in confusion and wrong beliefs about God and our own identity.
The Father heart of God
Essential teaching on how to understand
the true nature of God. His heart of unconditional love and acceptance
is revealed through the life, teaching and ministry of Jesus.
Realities of living in a fallen world
Illustrates how the
different circumstances of life such as betrayal, abuse, false
accusation or failure to meet the wrongful expectations of others can
cause deep wounding.
Preparing for change
The need to recognise our own failings is
highlighted through a fresh look at the prodigal son and the life of
Peter. The importance of accepting ourselves and others are important
steps in overcoming the pain of rejection.
Short assignments at the end of some teaching sessions help to relate
the teaching to personal situations. There is also an opportunity to
receive some prayer during the ministry night.
