Have you ever felt that some part of your inner self has been trashed, smashed or distorted? If so, then this special weekend will open your eyes to what God can do for you in real restoration.
In 1970, Peter Horrobin bought a classic Alvis car which had been crashed, vandalised, set on fire and dumped in the river. With hope and enthusiasm he set about restoring it, only to discover a bent chassis. How could it ever be driven again? Peter will tell the amazing story of how God used this car to inspire the vision that led to an extraordinary work of restoring battered lives, regardless of the depth of damage. You will hear testimonies that will give you real hope and there will be an opportunity to receive prayer ministry for yourself. This promises to be a very special Ellel course!
Restored to Run is a unique course in which the car becomes a dynamic parable of how God wants to restore all our lives. He sees the damage that has been caused to us through running on the roads of life and wants to heal and restore us so that once again we can truly run as the Maker intended!
Session 1 - The Story of DG 9628
When and how this Alvis Speed 20 was made, what happened to it and how, under new ownership, it was restored according to the maker’s instructions. What was God’s plan for our lives?
Session 2 - Assessing the Damage
Before any work of restoration can begin, we need to know the extent of the damage, so that plans can be made to fully restore the vehicle. What needs to be done so we can be restored as God intends us to be?
Session 3 - The Engine of Life
Without an engine, a car is powerless. If the engine is not running well, the car will underperform. Restoring the engine of life so we can be empowered to run – and to run well!
Session 4 - Transmitting the Power
The gear box transmits the power from the engine to the road wheels, so that the car can be driven safely in all road conditions. Learning how to live so that our lives will run well in all circumstances.
Session 5 - Steering a True Course
The steering gear needs to be in good order in order to drive a true course. Learning how to live so that the steering gear of our lives is always responsive to the touch of the Master’s hand.
Session 6 - Staying on the Right Road - Navigating through Life
Reading the Instruments and using the lights are basic skills needed for safe driving. But if we don’t know how to use the instruments God has provided for us or shed His light on our road, then a crash is inevitable!
Session 7 - Travelling in the Purposes of God
Just as a car is built for a purpose – to obey the instructions of the driver and take people where they want to go - our lives were also given to us for a purpose. When we give God permission to have His hand on the wheel of our lives, and listen to His voice, we will be able to travel in the purposes of God and know the joy of being fulfilled in Him.
