Acceptance and Belonging

Book Now
We all desire to belong. God has given us an in-built desire to feel recognised, valued, and accepted for who we are. When this need has not been met in a rightful way it can result in our rejecting others, ourselves and even God. This course explains how we can learn to accept God as he really is, others as they are and ourselves as unique and precious children of God. It is for all those who want to escape the treadmill of rejection and move into acceptance and belonging. The teaching will be especially helpful to those who are called to minister God's love to hurting people. The initial teaching looks at the character of God, the kingdom principle of unconditional acceptance, and the consequences of man's rejection of God. Following teaching topics include:

The consequences of imperfect parenting

Illustrates how imperfect parenting can result in confusion and wrong beliefs about God and our own identity.

The Father heart of God

Essential teaching on how to understand the true nature of God. His heart of unconditional love and acceptance is revealed through the life, teaching and ministry of Jesus.

Realities of living in a fallen world

Illustrates how the different circumstances of life such as betrayal, abuse, false accusation or failure to meet the wrongful expectations of others can cause deep wounding.

Preparing for change

The need to recognise our own failings is highlighted through a fresh look at the prodigal son and the life of Peter. The importance of accepting ourselves and others are important steps in overcoming the pain of rejection. Short assignments at the end of some teaching sessions help to relate the teaching to personal situations. There is also an opportunity to receive some prayer during the ministry night.

Testimonies

• God has really been doing something this time – revealed more detail about hurt from parents and ancestors and set me free from some aspects I hadn’t even realized. Moved another step into Daddy’s love and I believe my perception of my natural Dad has been drastically changed too which is great! I feel much freer to receive and accept love (though some stuff has surfaced a bit that still needs more attention I think – sometimes it’s hard because these courses raise so much stuff and it can’t always all be dealt with on the weekend.) But I am encouraged and I’ve felt a real sense of God’s presence drawing me closer to Him and healing me all weekend – even if I don’t know exactly all of what he’s doing.
• God is here and He never fails to move in my life. He never disappoints me.
• God has affirmed for me that I have been hearing from Him correctly and understanding His word to me and that my walk with Him is on the right path.
• Can’t improve, although Holy Spirit guides us and Ellel Ministries is close to hearing from God through precious Holy Spirit, therefore growing from strength to strength.
• He has given me the strength to carry on when I at this time seem to be at the very beginning.
• I believe I have had to come to this place.
• Helped me to learn to accept myself and others just as God would. Helped me to understand the root of my problems. Taught me how to not self reject/blame God. Showed me how precious I was and still am as there is nobody like me.
• I am encouraged to keep seeking God for my life and for healing in all aspects, but as well I feel encouraged to go home and pray for others.
• Before I came on this course I would always think ‘if people really knew me, knew what I’m like they wouldn’t like me.’ I’ve come to realize that God accepts me just as I am but more than that, the slate is wiped clean. All the things I’ve done, sins I’ve committed that I have spent years being ashamed of are wiped clean, God remembers no more. I am forgiven and accepted and loved by God. My worst fears previously would have been to tell someone about some of the things that I’ve done that I’m not proud of, in a ministry situation, but last night I was set free from that fear – I am no longer ashamed! – or fearing peoples opinions – I have realized more of my identity in Christ. Praise God!
• God made me aware of issues that I have around rejection/self-rejection and isolation. I guess I expected Him to sort that out for me but I learned that He doesn’t do that in one go, but in little steps and I can see that He has enabled me to take some steps over the course of this weekend.
• Thank you for the sensitivity in which you create a way for us all to meet with God.
• I have struggled for acceptance all my life, I have had negative words spoken over me since birth. I have been a Christian for over 15 years but still have struggled to feel accepted by God. I know He loves me but I am still struggling to get to grips with this in my own life but I am now able to walk through this for my future.
• God has certainly opened my eyes in showing me how special I am to Him, and how remarkably acceptable, and how very, very much He loves me. I already knew He did but He seems to have shown me a new level.
• I have found some peace and felt supported and bolstered as I return to work.
