A letter from Founder and International Director, Peter Horrobin
Dear Friend,
Twenty five years ago a small team of pioneers set out in faith to establish a work of healing and discipleship at Ellel Grange. We had no idea that God’s vision for the work was going to be so big!
The keys from God’s Word that were learned, in those very challenging early days, have stood the test of time, and today there are thirty different Ellel Ministries Centres in twenty-five different countries. What God has done with the little we had is truly amazing and we give Him ALL the glory - for ALL the fruit belongs to Him.
To God be ALL the Glory!
In those twenty-five years, many thousands are known to have come to personal faith in Christ at our Centres. God has healed the broken-hearted and He’s set the captives free. Childless couples have been given their miracle babies. People with long-standing sicknesses and diseases are no longer sick. Former psychiatric patients have been restored and are living normal lives.
People have rediscovered who God intended them to be and have started to fulfil their God-given destiny. Every day we receive humbling testimonies telling of what God has done – and increasingly people are telling us of their transformed lives through doing
Ellel 365.
Across all our Centres there have now been over 1,600 residential Healing Retreats, on which we have ministered individually to approximately 40,000 different people. And the lives that have been touched through the training courses, schools and conferences comfortably exceed 500,000! You can read just some of their vibrant testimonies by

God has amazingly blessed the work and it has now become a global ministry in response to a global need. God has somehow multiplied the Ellel ‘
loaves and fishes’ and the life-transforming fruit is truly extraordinary.
25th Anniversary Appeal
Both the Church and the world have changed greatly since 1986. There is much spiritual darkness across the face of the Earth, exactly as Scripture prophesied. Other religions have risen in their influence; moral boundaries have disintegrated and the phrase ‘as it was in the days of Noah’ very accurately describes the world in which we are now living. Society has become like a rudderless ship, drifting on a sea of confusion.
These are desperate days and we want to ensure that Ellel Ministries remains positioned, equipped and ready for action. We are determined to remain faithful to the vision God gave, serving the Body of Christ wherever He sends us in evangelism, healing and discipleship.
So, in this 25th Anniversary Year, I am daring to ask you to give as generously as you possibly can,
both as a thanksgiving to the Lord for all that has passed, but also in anticipation of the work that lies ahead – especially in parts of the world where the need is great but the local funding is minimal, such as Israel, Rwanda, Colombia, Eastern Europe, India and Russia.
Our buildings are vital to the ministry, and many people have expressed their concern to us, about the significant bank borrowings we still have against them.
In these uncertain financial times we believe God wants us to be free of all such liabilities in what we believe are going to be very important and testing days ahead for the Body of Christ.
Without the prayers and the giving of our supporters none of what has been achieved would have been possible – we are so grateful for each and every one. But the message for today is simple – we need your help now to continue pushing forward with the work.
In his letters, Paul never hesitated to share financial needs of the churches with the people he was writing to.
And on this, the occasion of our 25th Anniversary, I am wanting to follow Paul’s example, and ask if you would be willing to share in our thanksgiving for all that God has done in the past, by giving as generously as you are able, to equip the ministry for the future.
An Infinitely Valuable Investment
In today’s economic world, three to four per cent is considered a good return on one’s money. But God’s arithmetic is very different! It’s more accurately represented by the harvest from the life of Val, who came on our very first
Healing Retreat back in 1986!
Val was chronically anorexic and suicidal at the time. But God met her in a very deep way. First she came to know Him, and then she was filled with the Spirit, healed and delivered. Next her husband came and he was equally blessed. Together they went to Bible College for training and for the past twenty-two years Val has been a Salvation Army evangelist! 25 years ago people generously gave to start the work and Val is part of the return on their investment in the Kingdom. How do you measure the value of such an investment?
Pressing Forward with the Unfinished Task
The Lord is laying before us an unfinished task, which is vital for the years to come. Paul urged the Corinthians forward by saying, ‘Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.’ (2 Corinthians 8:11).
May I encourage you to think similarly?
I pray that as you consider the needs of the ministry you will want to share with us in both our thanksgiving and the ongoing vision for the work.
Yours in the love of Jesus,
Peter Horrobin
