Young Peoples Team

What is the Young Peoples Team?

It's the young people from all over the world who work as volunteers at an Ellel Ministries Centre. They give a year of their life to serve God in practical ways, doing whatever work is necessary, playing a vital role in each of our centres. Without the YPT team the vision of Ellel Ministries cannot reach its full potential, but it can help you reach yours.
What kind of person do I need to be?

You need to be :

  • A committed Christian aged between 18 and 30
  • Willing to serve, enthusiastic and positive
  • Hard working
  • A team player

What if I am not British?

Welcome! We aim to make each persons time here as rewarding as possible. We will try to accommodate your needs, but be warned : our culture may be very different from yours. A conversational level of English is essential. We will help you in any way we can in getting here, advice on visa applications, transport, etc.

What will I be doing on a daily basis?

Our foundational verse is from Luke 9:11 that says that Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom and healed those in need. As a member of the Young People's Team you will play a vital role in the 'welcome' for the guests who come here for help and training. You will do this in practical ways by preparing their accommodation, serving meals, cleaning and washing up.

Why would I want to do that?

Good question! Because God wants us to be servant-hearted! He also wants us to have fun and, most importantly, grow as people and in our relationships with Him - and you will certainly do that in your time here!
Will I do any other work than cleaning?

We actively encourage you to get involved in ministry during Healing Retreats, Healing Services and Ministry Nights.

Does it cost me anything?

No! In fact we pay you £17 a week pocket money and provide your accommodation and all your meals. Your only expense will be in getting here (visa fees and traveling costs)

Where will I live?

You will stay on the base in a room with shared facilities. You will most likely share a room with other members of the YPT. There is also a communal computer available to you so you can stay in contact via e-mail.

Is it that easy?

No. It will probably be one of the hardest years in your life. Having to get up early in the morning, work as part of a team despite language barriers, face your own personality flaws head-on while living in community and keeping a right heart attitude. Take up that challenge and you will be rewarded with a gift that exceeds all other gifts: a better, closer relationship with God.

What will I get out of it?

You get out what you put in! You will be expected to act responsibly regarding your spare time. It is entirely up to your choice as to whether you spend your free time in front of the TV, fellowshipping with other people or attending the evening meetings. There are lots of opportunities - you decide which you want to take!

How do I apply?

Just contact us (by e-mail, letter, fax or phone) and we will send you an application form. We will process it as soon as we receive it and will be in touch with you throughout.
