'The life that God calls us into is not keeping a set of religious duties but a heart-to-heart relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

Because He is a personal God and a loving Father, He speaks to us all the time; indeed His nature is to speak - He created, He rules and He redeems all through His Word.

As His sheep, our Lord Jesus says we hear His voice and He knows us and we follow Him (Jn 10:27). Hearing His voice gives substance to our relationship with Him and through obedience, His kingdom rule is promoted, and we live and serve out of an inner reality that proceeds from Him.

But how do we hear His voice? What are some of the ways He speaks to us? How do we distinguish His voice from the other voices we hear daily, including the voice that comes from our own spirit? Is our experience of hearing His voice something subjective, based merely on our feelings and emotions?
