Teaching Day: God's Comfort
Discover the beauty and power of God’s comfort
... rather than the temporal
satisfiers of this world.
Over-eating, smoking, television, alcohol, books, films, ... the list
could go on and on. The truth is that we all search for comfort, and often in areas other than
in God.
Taking the principles from the popular
God’s Tape Measure-teaching (on over-eating) and appropriating it to cover many other forms of
self-comfort, this teaching day looks into the reality of our need for
comfort. It considers the soulish ways that we seek satisfaction in
other things and deal with the consequences of meeting a need of the
spirit with methods of the soul. We will learn how to acquire the true
source of comfort for lasting peace instead of temporary relief from
the ways of the soul. Comfort issues are often the main root of many
besetting sins and addictions. Let’s learn how to walk out of bondage
into freedom.
Topics will include
- What is comfort and why do we need it?
- What is
God’s plan for comfort?
- What are man’s solutions for comfort
needs?
- What are the consequences of applying soulish methods to meet
a spiritual need?
- How to move from soul power to spirit rest in
our comfort issues.
