Over the past five years Ray and Christa Eicher have been our Representatives and Directors, and they have traveled the length and breadth of this vast nation taking the ministry of Ellel throughout the land.

The office in Dehra Dun, the north of India, was established in 2005 and has served as an excellent base for the Team, and with a few guest rooms, has been an ideal haven for the monthly Healing Retreats. 

Over the past few years this small Team has concentrated on running the 9 day School in many different regions – Mumbai, Bangalore, Mahabalipuram (near Chennai), Siliguri in the North East, Goa, Hyderabad and Dehra Dun. Most schools have been conducted in English but several have now been completed in the Hindi language. On every school, God has been faithful, lives have been touched by God, many have experienced His healing, restoration and freedom.

Requests from Pastors throughout the land have been pouring in, asking for more teaching and ministry times. The Team developed a Five Day Healing Workshop, which they could take to local churches - providing basic teaching on healing and discipleship and personal ministry times for each guest. In this way, hundreds more lives have been impacted by God’s love.  Naturally, God has also used these events to raise up new Ministry Team members. So the work is growing!!

Meanwhile Ray and Christa announced that they would be stepping down from the Director’s role at the end of this year. After 5 years pioneering this Healing ministry in India, with all that has entailed, we think they deserve a rest! We know their heart will still be with this ministry and will continue to help from the sidelines, but we are so thankful to God for this amazing couple who have laid their lives down sacrificially to help establish Ellel Ministries India.

So what next? We are pleased to announce that Cyril and Agnes Fonseca, Senior Pastors within the New Life Church in Mumbai are taking on the Director’s role. Their link with Ellel goes back to the beginning! They attended Ellel Ministries first visit to India in March 1995 and have faithfully been putting into practice all that they learnt then.

Others from their Church have attended the NETS programme in the UK and will be valuable assistants as they take this ministry forward. Plans for training up more Ministry Team and teachers are high on the agenda, as well as maintaining a programme of Healing Retreats, Five Day Healing Workshops and the aim of running a 9 week School in 2009.

What a great goal that is – to be able train Pastors and Leaders in depth on a 9 week school in their own land without the huge expense of trying to get them visas etc to UK for training.

Spiritually, life for Christians in India is not easy, you may have read about the recent persecution of Christians in some regions of India. Much prayer is needed to support the small Team as they seek to build on the foundations put in place by Ray and Christa. With a population of over 1 billion, this means there are vast healing needs everywhere one looks, and it is our constant aim to serve the Body of Christ so that the locals can maintain this ministry.  

We at the UK Headquarters are committed to sending out money each month to support this developing work. As the work expands, so do the costs, so we are seeking contributions to  send out monthly to help cover team allowances, office rents, team travel as well as administration.
