NETS Introduction

The Luke Nine Eleven Training School (NETS) is the in-depth international training school of Ellel Ministries, providing a comprehensive life-discipleship course.

NETS is based on Luke 9:11 in which Jesus ‘welcomed, taught and healed the people’. Peter Horrobin, the founding director of Ellel Ministries, had the vision of Pierrepont being a ‘teaching hospital,’ with people from all nations being taught and at the same time ministering into people’s lives as they come with deep needs. Every NETS school builds a unique sense of belonging to a family and gives students the opportunity to work, live and learn together in a loving, safe and supervised environment which is vital for training.

NETS is about taking time out to listen to God, to draw closer to Him, to be equipped to do His work. Knowledge alone cannot result in lasting change: it is the application of the information that brings the transformation and therefore NETS follows the HEAR, SEE, DO model. The Apostle Paul wrote ‘Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice’ (Philippians 4:9). At Pierrepont you will:

NETS - The School Format

The NETS programme has different options enabling individuals to tailor it to fit in with their personal circumstances and financial budget. There are four 10 week terms making up the complete NETS experience.

The foundational 6 months NETS School, consisting of Terms 1 and 2, concentrates on the foundations of healing, deliverance and discipleship. Term 1 essentially covers the same teaching curriculum as the 9 Week Flagship School and Modular Schools whilst Term 2 develops the teaching to a deeper level and provides further opportunities for application of the teaching in ministry situations including workshops, Healing Retreats and Church Visits. Students satisfactorily completing Terms 1 and 2 will receive the Ellel Pierrepont NETS Foundational Certificate.

For those who have completed the first two terms, the third (Mission) Term offers extra training plus other opportunities such as teaching, leading worship and working as lead prayer ministers on Healing Retreats. Outreach evangelism experience in a local town is followed by a two week Mission trip to another country - previous schools have travelled to Ghana, Kenya and Thailand. Students satisfactorily completing Term 3 will receive the Ellel Pierrepont Mission Term Certificate.

Term 4 completes the new Diploma Course programme. Concentrating on developing calling and giftings, it presents a variety of experience to fully equip students to take the healing of Jesus into the nations. Four major areas of calling – Teaching, Leadership, Ministry and Prayer - are investigated in depth, through seminars, workshops and practical experience. Students satisfactorily finishing Term 4 will receive an Ellel Pierrepont NETS Certificate of Completion.

Those who have demonstrated an applied outworking of their learning and understanding over the four terms of NETS, have attended tutorials, kept a reflective journal and completed any written assignments, or alternatively completed an equivalent 10,000 word dissertation on an agreed aspect of Christian Healing, will be eligible for the Ellel Ministries International Diploma.

Term 1

The first term gives a solid foundation of practical teaching that will equip students for both an understanding of the healing ministry and personal discipleship. Students experience their own personal Healing Retreat and have opportunity to minister at Healing Services and alongside fully trained prayer ministers on a Healing Retreat. All students satisfactorily completing Term 1 will receive the Ellel Pierrepont NETS Term 1 Certificate.

Term 2

The second term builds on Term 1, focusing on a deeper application of the teaching in healing and discipleship. Specialist teaching units develop an understanding of how to minister to people with particular problems. During this term, students are offered the opportunity to minister on a Church Visit. All students satisfactorily completing Term 2 will receive the Ellel Pierrepont NETS Certificate.

Term 3

Term 3, the Mission Term, has an emphasis on learning to live in vision, being trained to teach and lead, and gaining a greater understanding of deep level ministry. Students participate in evangelistic outreach with churches in a local town, and spend two weeks on an overseas Mission Trip*. All students satisfactorily completing Term 3 will receive the Ellel Pierrepont Mission Term Certificate.

*There will be an additional cost on this term for the mission trip of approximately £1100

Term 4

Term 4 concentrates on developing calling and giftings within three of the themes and four main core teaching areas of Ministry, Teaching, Leadership and Prayer. A variety of practical experience, personal mentoring and significant reflection time equip students to take the healing of Jesus into the nations.

All students satisfactorily completing Term 4 will receive the NETS Certificate of Completion. Those who have satisfactorily completed the Elements required for the Diploma will receive the Ellel Ministries International Diploma.
