Initiated - Advanced - Band of Brothers

‘Initiated Advanced – a Band of Brothers’ is the sequel to the “Initiated” men’s event. (Therefore it is a pre-requisite to have attended ‘Initiated’). This retreat has fewer sessions and more involvement in groups and workshops that are focused on developing what a ‘band of brothers’ fellowship should look like. The goal is for men to get real with each other, be able to talk safely about the areas they struggle in, receive not just understanding, but effective prayer ministry to gain freedom and move forward – all safely within that group.

 

Very few of us have been part of a men’s group where it was safe to be that vulnerable. That has to change. In Matthew 18:20 Jesus states that wherever 2 or 3 are gathered, there He is in the midst of them. As men, we need a Band of Brothers where a man can meet Jesus in the faces of the guys that surround him… and then be ‘fathered’ by others within the group in ways their own dads could never have done. This becomes a model then to take back to churches and fellowships of how real men can gather to ‘initiate’; ‘father’; disciple and be real with each other. It becomes the place where we can strengthen each other’s roles as husbands to our wives and fathers to our own children. It also becomes a place where men can affirm and strengthen one another and enjoy adventures together. A Band of Brothers is a sacred place where the men within that group can call their own sons up into Godly masculinity through affirming ‘Rites of Passage’. This is where Father God can meet a man and initiate him, grow and restore him. All it takes is for just 2 or 3 men who are sick of playing religion to get honest with God and with each other. ‘Initiated Advanced – a Band of Brothers’!
