Initiated - Men's event

 

‘Initiated’ is about re-discovering ‘ancient paths’ that lead to true masculinity. It focuses on what we missed on our masculine journey and offers insights on how God wants to initiate that rebuilding phase of our hearts and restore us as men today.

 

There is something ‘unfinished’ in us as men, if we are honest. And as a result most of us aren’t even sure what true masculinity looks like. Our shame, our anger, our passivity, our busyness and our addictions are all indicators that we are struggling.

 

Because our dads were unable to regularly affirm us, offer us deliberate ‘rites of passage’, ‘initiate’ us, or invest in us in the way a boy needs investing - we have been left un-affirmed and unsure of ourselves. Consequently, shame creeps in. We’re left feeling unworthy; a failure; not good enough… when life’s difficulties come we just don’t believe deep down we have what it takes to handle them.

 

But there is a process by which we can still be called up into true masculinity. There is a path on which we can still be ‘called out’ to become men by Abba Father today. The truth is He has been trying to initiate us for some time – through trials, tests, adventures and life’s adversities. But we’ve not known how to interpret those experiences. Most times they feel like another opportunity to runaway and hide; or fail again. Some of men believe that God is just mad at them. This retreat will unpack how Father God really sees us and how reveal how wants to initiate us. It will help us grasp what we missed in our own journey as we’ve grown up. (It will also help us better invest in our own sons & daughters lives).

 

There is a masculine journey we are all meant to take as men. None of its stages can be missed - without consequences. Most of us have never been shown what that journey looks like. “Initiated” is designed to reset a man’s compass towards that ancient path (Jer 6:16) and call him out as a ‘son of God’.
